The controversy surrounding the overlapping fan club name for the group ILLIT has finally led to a decision to change it.

The agency of ILLIT announced on April 22 through Weverse, “The fan club name that was announced on April 21 was selected from various candidates gathered with the hope of eternal love between ILLIT and the fans.” They further stated, “However, considering the concerns and opinions raised after the announcement, we have decided to select a new official fan club name.”

The agency stated, “The new fan club name for ILLIT will be selected from the existing final candidates without a re-application process, and we will inform you about it later.” They also apologized for causing confusion regarding the fan club name decision.

ILLIT had previously revealed their official fandom name. The fandom name that ILLIT revealed was ‘LILLY.’ However, controversy arose due to the name overlapping with NMIXX’s Lilly, who is a senior fourth-generation idol active in the industry. It was deemed inappropriate to use a senior’s name as a fandom name. There were also concerns from BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s fandom as the name resembles that of hers, Lilies.
