The exclusive contract between INFINITE’s Sungjong and his former agency has officially ended.

According to agency Double N on the 30th of March, Sungjong’s request for a court-ordered mediation in the injunction to suspend the exclusive contract against his former agency, SPK Entertainment has been settled. As a result, the exclusive contract ended as of midnight on the same day.

Sungjong, who signed an exclusive contract with SPK Entertainment in August 2022, claimed that he did not receive the promised contract fee, as well as the necessary support for broadcast appearances, fan meetings, and album releases.

He also mentioned that he did not receive settlement fees for his solo single ‘The One’, European tour, INFINITE’s 7th mini album ’13egin’, and Asia tour ‘COMEBACK AGAIN’ conducted over the past two years.

After attempting to resolve the issue for several months, Sungjong sent a notarized document through a law firm in December last year, demanding corrective action regarding the contract violations. However, as SPK Entertainment did not respond, he notified them of the termination of the exclusive contract and filed a lawsuit demanding the payment of settlement fees along with the court-ordered injunction to suspend the exclusive contract.

Double N stated, “SPK Entertainment expressed its intention to terminate the exclusive contract with Sungjong in the injunction case, and both sides agreed to end the contract as neither party objected to the court’s recommendation for reconciliation.”

Despite the termination of the exclusive contract, Sungjong will continue with a civil lawsuit against SPK Entertainment for unpaid settlement fees in the future.
