As the group NewJeans announced their comeback in May, concerns are growing about possible disruptions in the promotion schedule between their agencies, ADOR and HYBE, what will happen to it?

On the 24th of April, HYBE responded to questions about NewJeans’ comeback, saying, “There have been no changes in the comeback date yet. HYBE plans to support the artist’s scheduled comeback to the best of their abilities.”

ADOR also expressed their intention to focus on NewJeans’ comeback despite the conflicts with HYBE. On the same day, ADOR stated in a phone call with a media outlet, “We will focus on New Jeans’ comeback for the time being.”

It was previously revealed that after their comeback in May with a double single, NewJeans plan to make another double single comeback in June. They also announced plans for a debut in Japan in June, including hosting their first fan meeting at the Tokyo Dome. Regarding the Tokyo Dome fan meeting, they stated that they aim to lay the foundation for a world tour in 2025, presenting a big picture for their future activities.

However, this incident has raised concerns about their future activities. It is reported that while HYBE retains the rights to NewJeans’ intellectual property, there are tensions between them and Min Hee Jin, who is associated with ADOR. Although there is a possibility that Min Hee Jin may remain with HYBE, it is highly unlikely, and unless NewJeans initiates a contract termination lawsuit, they are still under the management of Ador, a subsidiary of HYBE.

Previously, HYBE conducted an internal investigation into Min Hee Jin, the representative, and another ADOR executive, Mr. A. HYBE explained that Min Hee Jin conspired to illegally separate NewJeans and take over management. Additionally, they sent a letter demanding her resignation.

Min Hee Jin went on the offense and issued a statement on the same day attacking HYBE’s management, accusing them of copying NewJeans’ style and likeness for ILLIT’s debut. Industry insiders now fear this might become a 2nd Fifty Fifty situation as the battle escalates.
