Group BTS has once again renewed their exclusive contract with their agency, Big Hit Music.

On the 20th, Big Hit Music held a board meeting to pass a resolution regarding the exclusive contract renewal with BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Based on this resolution, Big Hit Music plans to sequentially renew the exclusive contracts with the members.

This renewal comes as some members are currently fulfilling their military service. It is reported that all members have a strong intention to renew their contracts, and only procedural matters remain.

Starting from 2022, BTS began balancing group activities with individual endeavors in their second act (Chapter 2). Beginning with J-Hope, followed by Jin, RM, Jimin, Suga, Jungkook, and V, members released official solo albums one by one. Their solo releases also dominated global charts, including Billboard. Recently, V’s first solo album, ‘Layover,’ ranked 2nd on the Billboard 200.

HYBE stated, “Considering the military service status of some members, we will renew contracts individually and sequentially. Members who are currently serving in the military will have completed their military service obligations by the start of the new exclusive contract period in 2025.”

Previously, in October 2018, BTS renewed their exclusive contract with their agency before their first contract period was over. With all seven members renewing their contract for a second time, they will be able to continue working as a full group even after their military service is complete in 2025.
