“Longing For You” has wrapped up its run recently, here is a recap of its finale and its ending explained!

“Longing For You” episode 14 recap

The episode begins with Young-Woon putting both Reporter Park Gi-Young and Bae Min-Gyu on trial for their various crimes. He requests the death penalty for both of them.

Cha Jin-Cheol ends up visiting his son Park Gi-Young in prison, they exchange few words and he calls him dad, they both swell up with emotions.

Pi Jang-Mi talks to Hong Young-Hee telling her to make sure Dr. Chu is talked to so he testifies properly in this case so they could charge who killed Jin-Woo. When she goes to see him, he gets on his knees and apologizes, she forgave him and gave him food, she tells him to testify properly at the trial.

Before the trial, Hong Young-Hee visits Yoo Jung-Sook and scolds her for what she’s done, she’s filled with regret about what happened to him and how his life was cut short. Yoo Jung-Sook is unable to say anything back.

At the trial of Secretary Jung and Yoo Jung-Sook

Dr. Chu testified in the prosecution’s favor. Go Young-Joo who is the prosecutor in this case asks him about abducting Park Gi-Young too. She shows various video evidence that links him to everything but notes he must’ve had help from someone else pointing to Dr. Yoo.

Oh Jin-Woo’s birth mother also testifies and cries about her son’s death. Park Gi-Young also testifies that part of the reason he resorted to murder was Yoo Jung-Sook.

Another person who is job seeking also gets examined and turns out Yoo Jung-Sook also placed him on a short list in case she needed more donors for her son’s body organs.

Go Young-Joo asks then to examine Yoo Jung-Sook and calls her son in as witness. He asks her to admit to her crimes and atone for what she’s done.

The prosecution smoking gun regarding Oh Jin-Woo’s death came in the form of video evidence that shows Yoo Jung-Sook pleading with him while on his death bed, she then takes off his machine and he dies. This video evidence was handed by Young-Woon who had originally contemplated throwing it away but didn’t.

Yoo Jung-Sook ends up admitting to her crimes on stand and says she won’t ask for forgiveness but will pay for her crimes. The prosecution asks for the death penalty for both her and her secretary but they get life in prison instead.

1 year later

In prison, Park Gi-Young and Bae Min-Gyu want to get their hands on the prison’s blue print to escape, they are planning it together.

Young-Woon still attempts to talk to his mother who refuses to read his letters or accepts his visits, but he won’t stop trying.

Oh Jin-Woo’s birth mother comes in on his death anniversary and suggests for next year they do the service in France, they agree.

At the beach, Jin-Sung talks about this and mentions how Paris is a great place for honeymooners, so now they have a lot of time to prepare for their wedding, Young-Joo is not too thrilled with his teasing so she chases after him, she sprains her ankle and he picks her up on his back. They’re still as happy as ever and he declares he won’t stop and she’s not getting off of his back.
