After 2 years and 7 months, actress Park Hye Soo’s agency, Ghost Studio, has announced a new position regarding the allegations of school violence sharing a new important update.
It has been revealed that the person who levied the allegations against her has been charged with defamation for spreading false information, and the case has been sent for prosecution.
On the 9th of October, Ghost Studio stated, “We would like to inform you about the current legal proceedings regarding actress Park Hye Soo. We ask for your understanding regarding the delayed statement regarding this incident.”
The agency explained, “First, we would like to inform you about the progress of the defamation case. The investigative agency has sent the case for prosecution, as the defendant has been charged with defamation for spreading false information that has harmed the social evaluation of the plaintiff. Additional investigations are currently underway.”
They added, “In addition to the criminal defamation case, the actress has also filed a civil lawsuit for damages caused by false information and defamation. However, the defendant’s place of residence is unknown, and even the delivery of the lawsuit has been delayed for several months.”
The agency further stated, “The actress and our company will do our best to clarify the truth, and we will continue to make efforts to protect the rights of our affiliated actors.”
Park Hye Soo was accused of being a school violence perpetrator in February 2021. Through her agency, she strongly denied the allegations as “clearly false” and promised a strong legal response. Park Hye Soo also claimed to be a victim of school violence and added, “I believe it will pass because it is not true, but while I have been waiting and believing, falsehoods have continued to arise and pile up like a mountain.”
However, as more revelations emerged, Park Hye Soo suspended her activities. She had been actively working as a lead actress in numerous works and was on the rise. She was scheduled to appear in the KBS2 drama ‘Dear M,’ but all her activities came to a halt due to the allegations of school violence.
Park Hye Soo has since made some public appearances here and there, but they were numbered.
In the midst of the ongoing battle for the truth, Park Hye Soo announced her official comeback with the confirmed release of the film ‘You and I.’
