Park Bo Young and Choi Woo Shik are set to grace the small screen in a new romantic melodrama, “Melomovie.”
Directed by Oh Chung-hwan, “Melomovie” portrays a film-like time in the lives of ambiguous youths who want to love, fulfill their dreams, and inspire each other. The drama unfolds a delightful blend of laughter and warm emotions as these young individuals set aside their burdens of scars and traumas, journeying through dreams and love.
The meeting of Choi Woo Shik and Park Bo Young naturally draws attention. Choi Woo Shik plays Go-gyeom, a character who transitions from a minor actor to a film critic, dreaming of absorbing every movie in the world. The plot takes an intriguing turn as Kim Moo Bi, portrayed by Park Bo Young, enters Go-gyeom’s life, carrying a mix of affection for her father, which adds curiosity to her curiosity about ‘what is so special about movies.’ Park Bo Young’s portrayal of Kim Moo Bi, who values movies more than herself, and Choi Woo Shik’s character’s journey from a minor actor to a film critic are expected to create a unique and touching chemistry.
The drama is written by Lee Na Eun who wrote “Our Beloved Summer” and directed by Oh Chong Hwan who directed “Castaway Diva,” “Hotel Del Luna” and more.
Adding to the richness of the production, actors Lee Jun Young and Jeon So Nee join the cast. Lee Jun Young plays Hong Si-jun, a self-proclaimed genius and an anonymous composer in reality. Jeon So Nee takes on the role of Son Joo-ah, Hong Si-jun’s former lover and a screenplay writer. Their performances are anticipated to provide additional captivating points to the viewers.
“Melomovie” is set to be globally available on Netflix, reaching over 190 countries.
