Actor Lee Joon Gi shared his feelings of pressure regarding his role in the drama “Arthdal Chronicles 2.”
On September 5th at 2 PM, the online production presentation for the new tvN weekend “Arthdal Chronicles 2” took place.
“Arthdal Chronicles 2” is a new chapter in the “Arthdal Chronicles” series, where the owner of the sword writes the myth of Arthdal in the prehistoric land of Arth, depicting the fateful stories of Tagon, Eunseom, Saya, and Taelha, who each create different legends in Arth.
Lee Joon Gi, who plays the role of Eunseom expressed, “I was a fan of the writers’ works. As an actor, I wondered why the writers didn’t call me. As an actor who likes historical dramas, I really looked forward to it. It was not just nervousness but extreme trembling when I was proposed with such a huge worldview. I was very happy to be chosen by the writers, but while reading the script, I felt a significant psychological burden. It was a level of pressure that I even felt fear.”
He continued, “I wondered if I was capable of handling this, if I could dare to attempt it. After the first shoot, I couldn’t sleep properly until the 10th episode. I thought the only way to manage it was to put aside my life and focus solely on the set. That’s how much pressure and burden I felt.”
Despite this, Lee Joon Gi did not hide his affection for the project. He said, “Throughout the filming, I was so happy and delighted. I really wanted to experience things like the tension that comes from war, the relationships between the characters, and the clash of emotions. I wanted to try this kind of epic drama. I had so much enthusiasm, and even now, I didn’t want to leave the set.”
The new tvN weekend drama “Arthdal Chronicles 2” will premiere on September 9th at 9:20 PM.
