Netflix has confirmed the production of the action comedy film ‘Mudo Field Officer,’ directed by Kim Joo-hwan and starring Kim Woo Bin and Kim Sung Kyun.

‘Mudo Field Officer’ tells the story of Lee Jung-do (Kim Woo Bin), a martial artist with a 9th-degree black belt in Taekwondo, Kendo, and Judo, who teams up with parole officer Kim Sun-min (Kim Sung Kyun) to monitor electronic ankle bracelet wearers and prevent crimes.

The term ‘Mudo Field Officer,’ an unfamiliar yet intriguing title, refers to those who supervise electronic ankle bracelet wearers at high risk of reoffending and work to prevent crimes, ensuring the safety of citizens. Working together as a team of two, they prevent dangers and subdue criminals on behalf of parole officers.

Kim Woo Bin portrays Lee Jung-do, who juggles delivery while also being a caring young man who can’t ignore people in need. He may seem like an ordinary and comfortable youth who enjoys playing games at PC rooms and drinking with friends, but what sets him apart is his exceptional martial arts skills, holding 3rd-degree black belts in Taekwondo, Kendo, and Judo, totaling 9th-degree black belt in ‘Mudo’ techniques. After Jung-do accidentally saves a Mudo Field Officer under attack from a criminal wearing an electronic ankle bracelet, he ends up becoming a Mudo Field Officer for five weeks as a substitute, and the real story begins.

Kim Sung Kyun portrays Kim Sun-min, who becomes a parole officer managing powerful criminals wearing electronic ankle bracelets because he wants to help people. He recognizes Jung-do’s talent and intuition and encourages him to become a full-fledged ‘Mudo Field Officer.’ Kim Sun-min’s sense of mission and expertise in subduing criminals, combined with Jung-do’s martial arts skills and guts, create a perfect synergy. The film also promises tension and real action as they chase and stop violent criminals attempting to cut off their ankle bracelets, as well as a delightful comedy between Jung-do, a bright and righteous youth, and his friends.

“Mudo Field Officer” will be exclusively released on Netflix.
