Actor Kim Seon Ho who made his screen debut in the movie “The Childe” shared his thoughts on his debut film project playing the villain role.

In “The Childe,” Kim Seon Ho played the character of a mysterious pursuer named childe, who relentlessly chases Marco (played by Kang Tae Koo), a former boxer. The character is ruthless and kills people while emphasizing style and wit, and as Park, the director, put it, he is a ‘clean crazy person.’

Kim Seon Ho said, “Since it was my first time shooting a film, it was also my first time experiencing press events. I couldn’t bear to watch the press screenings. When I saw myself on TV for the first time, I couldn’t even watch my acting properly, and movies have such a big screen, you know. My flaws were emphasized so much that I almost shouted several times. Especially during the English dialogue parts, I almost ran away. Fortunately, senior Kim Kang Woo tapped my shoulder next to me.”

This is his first film in 14 years since his debut, and he expressed his excitement about attending press events and appearing in front of the public. In the film, he showcases various actions such as car chases, wire actions, and gunfights. His impressive portrayal as a chase god who runs endlessly on roads and rooftops while wearing luxury shoes and a sleek suit leaves an impression.

Kim Seon Ho also talked about the difficulties of filming and the action scenes, “If the response is like ‘Oh, Kim Seon Ho can act like this?’ I’m satisfied. I personally performed almost all the action scenes in this film, and I feel proud. Actually, I have acrophobia. The high-rise building was really high. The script said ‘standing and laughing,’ but it was scary, so I changed it to sitting. I asked Tae Joo, ‘Are you really going to do it?’ and he said, ‘Yes, I have to.’ Running and chasing scenes were tough because the weather was so cold, but the director said, ‘You have to do it,’ so I just did it. I always listen to my seniors’ advice. Haha.”

Kim Seon Ho decided to appear in this film without even reading the script. After meeting Director Park, he gained trust. He described Park as a “good director and an older brother.” Through this film, he continues his relationship with Director Park Hoon-jung. He also plays the lead role in Park’s upcoming work, ‘The Tyrant.’

Kim Seon Ho talked about being recognized overseas, “When I went to Thailand for the filming of ‘The Childe,’ a local airport staff called me ‘Hong Banjang!’ (the nickname of his character in ‘Start-Up’). Many local fans also came to the filming location, which surprised both me and the director. I always think about how I can repay their love. I was always moving forward slowly, but I was able to grow by watching the acting of my seniors. I also dream of becoming someone’s ‘reference’ someday.”

Meanwhile, “The Childe” is a movie that tells the story of various forces with different purposes, including the childe (Kim Seon Ho), an unidentified man, appearing in front of Marco (Kang Tae Joo), a Filipino boxer, who travels through illegal boxing arenas, and engaging in a pursuit of madness. It will be released on the 21st of this month.
