Im Siwan Reportedly Leading “Squid Game 2,” Netflix Briefly Comments
Actor Im Siwan might reunite with Lee Byung Hun in “Squid Game 2”!
In a recent report, it was alleged that Im Siwan will lead the drama alongside Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun. Attention focused on whether Im Siwan will actively participate as a new face in the secretly casted “Squid Game” Season 2.
In response to those reports, Im Siwan’s agency Plum A&C stated on the 15th, “It is unconfirmed.” This aligns with Netflix’s stance as well who said they cannot confirm anything at the moment.
“Squid Game” is a series that tells the story of individuals who participate in a mysterious survival game with a prize of 45.6 billion won and risk their lives to become the final winner. It was released in September 2021 and caused a global sensation.
“Squid Game,” which recorded the highest viewership in Netflix’s history, has confirmed the production of the highly anticipated Season 2. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk announced on Netflix Korea’s official social media that Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun will be appearing in “Squid Game” Season 2. He also hinted at the possibility of Gong Yoo’s appearance.
“Squid Game” Season 2 aims to be released in 2024 and will begin filming this summer.
