Recently, actress Go Yoon Jung, who is actively playing the role of Jang Hee Soo in the series “Moving,” expressed her gratitude to author Kang Full for joining the project.

In a recent interview, the rising talent discussed the popular Disney+ drama.

“Moving” is a human action series that depicts the story of children living in the present while hiding their supernatural abilities and parents who have hidden painful secrets from the past.

In the play, Jang Hee Soo is a third-year student at Jungwon High School, who is preparing for the physical education college entrance exam and has inherited her father Jang Joo Won’s (Ryu Seung Ryong) infinite regeneration ability.

When asked about the casting process, Go Yoon Jung said, “I didn’t hear anything during the casting process, but I heard some behind-the-scenes stories when I had a meal with author Kang Full [the screenwriter] later on. I received the script on set without having read the original work, and personally, I find it difficult to do impromptu readings. But Hee Soo’s personality and way of speaking were quite similar to mine, so it didn’t feel unfamiliar,” she said. “Later, I heard from author Kang Full that he was the only one who strongly influenced the casting. It was because he liked her voice and thought she had a carefree expression. I was never satisfied with my voice when I was young, but after my debut, I received a lot of compliments about my voice, so I am grateful these days. I think the characters I played before suited me because they spoke straightforwardly and had a carefree role,” she added.

While expressing her gratitude to author Kang Full for choosing her with such determination, Go Yoon Jung said, “I liked author Kang Full’s past works when I was in elementary school to middle school, so it was amazing to work on a project with a famous author I’ve known since I was young. At first, I thought it would be difficult because he had a big build and was famous, but he turned out to be very sensitive and warm-hearted,” she said. “Hee Soo’s lines fit me so well that I wondered if he wrote them specifically for me. He also bought me a lot of food during the shoot, not just to encourage me, but he also monitored everything carefully. Seeing how much he liked it made me more confident in my acting,” she said.

When asked if there were any similarities between her character and herself, besides the way they spoke, Go Yoon Jung said, “I used to do auditions and art college entrance exams for a long time. I failed the auditions and went to a regular high school, but I transferred later on. I think I’ve been constantly preparing for auditions since middle school,” she said. “In the process of preparing for auditions, I developed a habit of focusing only on my goals and running like a racehorse without looking around. I could relate to Hee Soo’s aspect of constantly training for the audition, and in art as well, it’s not grades that matter, but your physical stamina. So, I think that’s why I was similar to Hee Soo,” she commented.
