Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi recently reportedly demanded proof of accounting receipts of his earnings to his agency Hook Entertainment, the agency has since confirmed.
According to an official in the entertainment industry on November 18, Lee Seung Gi asked for a certificate of contents from Hook Entertainment, his agency, to the effect of transparent disclosure of the account balance and settlement of his earrings.
The official said, “Lee Seung Gi seems to have reached the conclusion that there are problems with the accounting balance and settlement of various activities so far. It is a request to disclose administrative issues and transparent accounting receipts.”
In response, Lee Seung Gi’s side is expected to take steps to terminate the contract if Hook Entertainment does not give a convincing answer to the certificate of contents within a few days.
Lee has been with Hook Entertainment for 18 years since his debut. Therefore, fans were surprised by his action. Lee Seung Gi and Hook Entertainment may be able to reach an agreement
In response, Hook Entertainment, his agency, confirmed that they received the request for the certificate of content from Lee Seung Gi on November 18.
The agency said,
“Accordingly, we are reviewing related data and preparing an answer. We are trying to conclude the problem smoothly without misunderstanding between the two sides. We apologize for not being able to express our position on a series of incidents that have been reported in the media. It is difficult to say anything about the issue at the moment due to the seriousness of the issue raised. As soon as it is concluded to some extent, we will announce our official position on related matters.”
Recently, the National Police Agency’s Serious Crime Investigation Division raided Hook Entertainment’s office building for five hours. The seizure and search were reportedly conducted to verify the embezzlement rumors of some executives, including CEO Kwon.
