“Miracle of the Small” and “Monster Rookie” are nicknames attached to the group Kiss of Life, which debuted less than a year ago. They have received attention for their unique sensibility among the overflowing rookie girl groups and have swept various awards ceremonies. Behind them is Heain, a name that some kpop fans might remember.
Heain first gained attention in 2016 when she appeared on the Mnet survival program “Produce 101.” Although she unfortunately ranked 17th and was eliminated, she made her debut in the project girl group “I.B.I” and actively participated in the music industry.
Afterwards, she appeared on another Mnet survival program called “Idol School” in 2017, attempting a comeback, but was eliminated due to vote manipulation. Heain, who had stumbled at the threshold of debut multiple times, embarked on a new challenge as a “creative director.” The pain she experienced became a nourishment for her.
From the casting of the members of Kiss of Life, to concept planning and album production, Heain’s touch is revealed to have been everywhere. In particular, her insight transformed Natty, who had a cute image to the public through appearances on “Sixteen” and “Idol School,” into a “hot girl.”

Heain explained about “Midas Touch,” saying, “I wanted to interpret Britney Spears’ Y2K 2000s mood in Kiss of Life’s style. I tried various stylings on music shows to present it in a non-outdated way.”
Heain also revealed that she made efforts to bring changes in terms of performance starting from “Midas Touch.” She said, “Instead of the free-spirited mood that Kiss of Life has shown in the past, I tried to capture the public’s attention by incorporating synchronized performances reminiscent of military drills through various movements and organic distribution of parts.” She also explained that she added couple dances at Natty’s suggestion to show the chemistry between the members and provide a different kind of enjoyment.
Heain’s challenges will continue in the future. With Kiss of Life confirming their comeback after just three months, there is anticipation for what concept they will return with, surpassing “Midas Touch.” Heain stated that Kiss of Life’s future activities will target the global market, saying, “We will focus on presenting music that Kiss of Life can do well, and we are considering introducing different genres of music. Conceptually, apart from the visual aspects, we are also thinking of a refreshing easing of listening.”
