EXO Baekhyun has broken a record for the first time in 19 years!

While it’s very very difficult for a Kpop group to sell a million copies, it’s an even more difficult task for a soloist, generally speaking, Kpop groups have better chances at doing so and even with their chances, still not many are able to earn the title “Million-sellers.”

Baekhyun has proven that he could do it with your group and as a soloist. According to SM, Baekhyun’s second mini album “Delight,” released on May 25, has sold a total of 1,018,746 copies as of June 30. This makes him the first solo artist in 19 years to surpass a million copies in sales since Kim Gun Mo‘s seventh album in 2001.

EXO also managed to sell over a million copies of their 2013 album becoming the first group in 13 years to do it, thus, Baekhyun has become the second artist ever to earn the “million seller” title both as a solo and as part of a group following Seo Taiji of Seo Taiji and Boys.

In a special video message on twitter, Baekhyun celebrated the accomplishment and thanked fans for helping him get it. He expressed his love and gratitude to fans over and over again during his message.

Congratulations to Baekhyun!
