BTS will be helping out the class of 2020 celebrate their graduation while practicing social distancing during COVID-19 pandemic.
On May 5, YouTube announced that it will be hosting a virtual graduation ceremony titled “Dear Class of 2020.” Commencement speeches will be delivered by former President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, BTS, Lady Gaga, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and activist Malala Yousafzai.
American media outlet Variety says the event will be carried out in festival-like style with a mix of performances and talks. BTS are among some of the artists who will perform at the virtual after-party.
Many celebrities are also set to make special appearances alongside BTS such as Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, Kerry Washington, Chloe x Halle, Zendaya, and YouTubers Jackie Aina, AsapSCIENCE, Dude Perfect, Mr. Kate, and The Try Guys.
The event premieres on the YouTube Originals channel and YouTube’s [email protected] site on Saturday, June 6 at 12 p.m. PST.
