ZEROBASEONE’s Kim Gyu Vin has apologized for the controversy surrounding his comments.

On the 19th of August, Kim Gyu Vin stated in his fan community, “I recently became aware that I used expressions without knowing their exact meaning and origin while communicating with fans in a new way, and I deeply reflect on this.”

He continued, “I sincerely apologize to those who felt uncomfortable due to my immaturity. I will learn and strive harder to prevent such situations from happening again. I apologize once again to all the fans who support me and everyone who was concerned by this incident.”

Previously, Kim Gyu Vin used some slang terms while communicating with fans through comments, which caused controversy as these terms were found to contain derogatory meanings towards women and certain regions.

Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE is a project boy group formed through the Mnet audition program ‘Boys Planet’ and made their debut on the 10th of last month.
