“I Am A Feminist Because Of You,” Wonder Girls Yeeun Shares Harassing And Disrespectful DMs She Received From Anti-Feminists

Former Wonder Girls member Yeeun aka HA:TFELT has shared a few DMs

she’s been receiving and its shocking, to say the least.

Recently, HA:TFELT shared a couple of the direct messages she’s received on her Instagram stories. Some of the DMs read, ‘Yoon Suk Yeol won though. I saw you on broadcast, you looked like a disabled person,’ ‘Yoon won, no matter how hard you struggle,’ ‘what to do? Lee lost [referring to the other Korean presidential candidate], because of people like you, I went to vote, you worked hard,’ and more.

HA:TFELT put her own messages on top of those screenshots, she wrote, ‘why I became a feminist,’ adding, ‘its because of these people who ignore women, mock them and endlessly harass them and gain satisfaction from it.’

But why is she getting such malicious messages?

HA:TFELT has openly said she was a feminist multiple times on broadcast, she talked about women’s issues in South Korea and continues to advocate for women’s rights on her social media as well. Her approach attracted anti-feminist men who believe feminists are extremist, Following the victory of conservative anti-feminist Yoon Suk Yeol, many men DM-ed her about the victory.

The newly elect-president Yoon Suk Yeol has famously called for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to be abolished. He also blamed the country’s low birth rate on feminism.
