Media Outlet Wikitree which posted fake rumors about EXO’s Sehun has admitted to their false reporting.
Previously, Sehun’s agency, SM Entertainment, stated, “The rumors about Sehun that have been circulating online are completely baseless,” and added, “The spread of false facts and malicious content is a clear criminal act, and we will take legal action against the initial poster and those who spread the rumors.” Earlier, on an online community site, a post and photo were uploaded claiming that Sehun’s alleged girlfriend had become pregnant before marriage. Sehun talked about this twice, in the first time expressed his anger at the spread of the false rumors. And in the 2nd time, he said, “As fans may know, there has been a woman pretending to be my girlfriend for several years. She posted photos and wrote posts as if we were in a relationship through SNS, and although I heard about it, I didn’t know her at all and thought it was nothing serious, but it has become a big deal.”
On May 25, Wikitree posted this apology:
We apologize for the article related to EXO member Sehun. We would like to apologize for the article that was released in March titled “<EXO’s Sehun, Rumors of Pregnancy with Non-Celebrity Girlfriend… Witness Accounts from Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic>”.
The article was found to contain inaccurate information and false content due to unreliable reporting. We will strive to meticulously verify factual relationships and ensure a more careful reporting process to prevent such incidents from happening again.
We would like to extend our sincere apologies to EXO’s Sehun, fans, and readers once again.
