Veteran Korean Singer Kwak Sun Ok Passes Away
Veteran singer Kwak Sun Ok passed away on the 12th at the age of 91.
She sang the song “Who Doesn’t Know This Person” which was used as the theme song for the 1960s movie ‘North and South’. The deceased, who made her debut as a singer for the US 8th Army in 1951, received a lot of love for this song, which depicted the sadness of division and the longing of separated families.
“Who Doesn’t Know This Person” was first introduced as the theme song for the radio drama ‘North and South’ in 1964 and was later inserted into the movie of the same name.
At the time, the song was a big hit along with the movie and was loved for a long time, with various singers singing it again.
The deceased’s funeral hall is set up in Room 203 of Korea University Anam Hospital Funeral Hall. The departure is scheduled for 3 p.m. on the 14th.
