TXT’s Yeonjun Faces Backlash For Posting Photos Taken In Japan + Issues Apology

TXT’s Yeonjun has come under fire for his recent Instagram post!

On August 16 at 2:07 a.m. KST, Yeonjun apologized for his recent social media post.

On the afternoon of the 15th, Yeonjun simultaneously posted several photos showing his recent activities on his personal official account. Among the photos was one taken on a street in Japan. It was confirmed that the photos were not taken on the same day, as Yeonjun had returned from a schedule in Japan.

However, Liberation Day, observed on August 15, marks the day in 1945 when Korea was liberated from Japanese rule, making it a national holiday. Posting photos related to Japan in a space visible to fans worldwide on this day was criticized as careless.

After realizing his mistake shortly after posting the photos, Yeonjun deleted them and accepted the criticism. He issued an official apology on both Weverse, the fan communication platform, and his personal official account, vowing to be more careful in the future.

Below is Yeonjun’s full apology:

“Hello, this is Yeonjun.
I failed to respect the historical significance and meaning of Liberation Day and carelessly uploaded photos.
I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt by my wrong actions. I will reflect on my shortcomings and be more careful in the future to prevent such incidents from happening again.
Once again, I sincerely apologize to everyone.”
