TXT Following In The Footsteps Of BTS, Achieve An Established Group Number In Pre-orders

Published Categorized as Kpop

Big Hit Entertainment upcoming boy group TXT is already a hit!

According to Iriver, it was revealed that on February 22nd, TXT’s debut album “The Dream Chapter: STAR” surpassed the 100,000 copies in pre-orders, they achieved this feat in only three days.

The album (as of February 22nd) has recorded 104,385 copies in stock pre-orders. This was recorded from 11 a.m. KST on February 19 to 10 a.m. KST on February 22.

Surpassing such a huge number in pre-orders is a huge feat and a good number for established groups, so its even more special for a group that’s only just making their debut.

This is due to the fact that TXT is the first Big Hit boy group following the worldwide sensation BTS. People’s eyes are already fixated on the upcoming boy group as they’re expected to lead a successful career with a unique debut and follow in the footsteps of their senior group BTS.

TXT will officially debut on March 4 through Mnet’s special show that will focus on showcasing the members’ talents. The album will be released on the same day at 6 p.m. KST on online music streaming sites.

The boys will, again, greet fans through a debut showcase on March 5.

It’ll be interesting to see what records TXT will be able to break after their debut!

My Thoughts

100,000+ in pre-orders for a group no one has ever heard sing or dance live before is something!

Big Hit is under the radar because of BTS’s humungous success, this means that anything they pump out will immediately catch attention. I personally don’t mind that, I welcome it.

In fact, this has been the case with basically every other agency. New upcoming artists get the spotlight because of their sunbaes. The same happened with 2NE1 and many many other groups. A lot of agencies rely on senior groups to give a boost to the junior groups.

Now I am getting anxious, I previously talked about the pressure of expectations. Now knowing that more than 100K people ordered an album by a group that hasn’t even debuted yet is scary, I bet TXT are under a lot of pressure.

I wish the best for TXT, I hope they do well. I hope that they will gain their own fans away from their seniors fans. Right now, ARMY are all supporting the upcoming boy group because it’s the brother group of BTS and because its from Big Hit.

I also know that there are many ARMY who aren’t necessarily following them because they’re the brother group of BTS but because they trust big hit music, so that’s another reason why you have so many people showing them support.

That’s not bad or anything but I hope that after people listen to their music they become fans genuinely because they’re interested in what the boys have to offer not because they’re part of big hit and are BTS’s brother group.

They have an uphill battle ahead of them. BTS is a name that I believe will be hard to come near to, BTS’s success is unprecedented. TXT will have to go above and beyond to escape the shadows of BTS.

Fighting!
