TWICE’s Chaeyoung has publicly apologized for sharing this recent Instagram post, here is what happened and why fans are upset!

On March 21, Chaeyoung posted to her Instagram, the post contained 7 photos of herself out and about. In one of the photos, it was clear that the t-shirt she’s wearing had a swastika symbol on it, a Nazi symbol. The post shocked many of her international fans.

Since then, she has deleted the post and has also issued an apology in both Korean and English.

She wrote,

Hello, this is Chaeyoung from TWICE.

I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post. I didn’t correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the t-shirt I wore.

I deeply apologize for not thoroughly reviewing it, causing concern. I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again.

Sincerely apologize again.

This isn’t the only clothing controversy relating to Chaeyoung that recently happened. Just recently, she was spotted promoting on music shows wearing a controversial Qanon shirt.

The shirt is about an American right-wing political conspiracy theory. Followers of this theory have committed various acts of violence and they were linked to the Capitol attack in 2021 after Trump lost the elections.

Since the controversy erupted, Chaeyoung’s name has topped worldwide trends on Twitter as fans share their takes on the situation.
