EXO’s Kai is temporarily leaving his fans to fulfill his duty to the country.
According to SM Entertainment on May 3rd, “We have received sudden news related to Kai’s military service. Kai was preparing for EXO’s comeback scheduled for this year, but due to recent changes in military regulations, he will enter the army training center on May 11th for basic military training and then serve as a social service worker.”
They continued, “We respect Kai’s intention to quietly enter the training center on that day, so we will not disclose the location or time of his entry, and there will be no separate events on that day. We ask for your understanding. We will provide updates on EXO’s upcoming album as they become available.”

Kai made his debut in 2012 as part of EXO-K and was born in January 1994, turning thirty years old in Korea this year. It appears that he received his enlistment notice earlier than expected while preparing for EXO’s comeback.
