This Famous TWICE Member Reveals She Was Also An SM Trainee Before Joining JYP
TWICE member Jihyo revealed that she was once a trainee at SM Entertainment before joining JYP Entertainment, surprising fans!
This information came to light during an episode of the YouTube channel “Hyoyeon’s Level Up,” where Jihyo appeared as a guest.
In the preview of the episode, Jihyo shared with Hyoyeon that she had met her when she was a child. When Hyoyeon asked how old she was at that time, Jihyo began her story by mentioning it for the first time publicly. She disclosed that she spent a year as a trainee at SM Entertainment before spending ten years training at JYP Entertainment, which surprised everyone, including Hyoyeon.
Jihyo, born on February 1, 1997, is currently 27 years old. She joined JYP Entertainment in 2005 and spent over ten years as a trainee. In a recent broadcast, Jihyo reflected on her trainee days, sharing that she spent a long time training with fellow TWICE members Nayeon and Jeongyeon. They faced many challenges, including moments of doubt about their careers, weight gain, and even running away from home. Ultimately, she debuted through the Mnet survival program “Sixteen,” which formed TWICE.
Jihyo, as TWICE’s main vocalist, has been recognized for her powerful vocals. She has contributed to many of the group’s hit songs, including “Like OOH-AHH,” “Cheer Up,” “TT,” and “Feel Special.” Additionally, Jihyo released her solo album “ZYO” last year, further showcasing her vocal talent.
