The Most Unprecedented Chart-Topping Feats For Jungkook’s Solo Debut Track “SEVEN”

BTS Jungkook is setting new records, breaking established ones, and rocking the industry with his solo debut.

On July 14, Jungkook released his official solo debut single “Seven” featuring Latto, immediately after its release, the song topped various charts around the world and broke various records in the process.

Jungkook breaks iTunes records with “SEVEN”

“Seven” soared to the top of iTunes charts in numerous countries all over the world. As of July 16 KST, “Seven” had already hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 110 different regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, and Japan.

In addition, Jungkook’s “Seven” created history by being the song to ever hit No. 1 in 100 different nations in under 2 and a half hours.

Not only that, but the clean and instrumental versions of “Seven” reached No. 2 and No. 3 in many countries.

Jungkook’s “SEVEN” breaks YouTube views count

The music video for “SEVEN” began to rack up views quickly and 24 hours after its release, it amassed an impressive 35.4 million views on YouTube. While the official record is yet to be released, this makes “SEVEN” the biggest 24-hour debut of any music video released by a male K-pop artist this year.

Added to that, “SEVEN” now holds the record for the 2nd highest number of views for the first 24 hours by a male K-pop soloist’s music video in its first 24 hours, only bested by PSY‘s 2013 hit “Gentleman” [which recorded 38.4 million views].

“SEVEN” record-breaking feats on Spotify charts

Jungkook’s “SEVEN” managed to debut at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart, it racked up over 15.9 million filtered streams.

With this, Jungkook is now the first male artist from any country to surpass 15 million first-day streams with a new song on Spotify, he is only behind Taylor Swift “Anti-Hero” and “Lavender Haze” which managed to debut with higher numbers.

As of July 15, Jungkook also charted on Spotify Top Artists chart at #7, he’s now tied for the record for the highest-charting Korean soloist on this chart.

Overall, Jungkook earned over 31 million streams on Spotify on July 14, the biggest single-day streams for a K-Pop soloist in history. Another record as well.
