Singer Suran took to instagram to address the huge backlash she received following the allegations of her dating news with BTS’s Suga, which were proven to be wrong last week.
Big Hit Entertainment released a statement denying dating rumors that spread after Suran posted a photo to her Instagram account and captioned it with the Korean word “yoongi” which is also Suga’s real name.
She took to instagram on March 31st and wrote a lengthy post explaining her side of the story to fans. She said,
“Hello, this is Suran.
First of all, I would like to apologize to anyone who might have been hurt because of me. When I used the word ‘shining thoughts,’ I meant it in the sense of radiance or shine, it was an expression full of ideas, I was in a good mood back then after taking a bite of a sweet dessert.
The macron post was only uploaded because I wanted to thank an acquaintance who gave it to me, I wanted to promote it. S, for Spain, the poodle puppy in the magazine shooting studio, and etc.
These all are my own thoughts and differ from what people imagine of me. I often use abstract expressions. I am very shocked and hurt by the criticism I have received for using an expression that wasn’t too common.
Because of that, I thought it might be better to erase those posts but this is my personal SNS space, I didn’t write those posts with ill intentions, and I believe that it showed my sincerity to leave them as they are.
I am only a musician. I didn’t start lightly nor lived up to this point easily. I am simply always charging forward to a new destination of better music. I met Suga last year, we discussed music and that was all there was to our relationship, nothing more and nothing else.
Nevertheless, there are so many people who misunderstood the situation and its very frustrating. I needed time to think about this situation of people cursing and showing their rage towards me. 365 days, 24 hours. I think to myself whether I can do anything at all being a public figure, I need to be conscious of someone else and need to consider everyone around me, and control myself whenever I post anything.
I am worried whether I should sensor my music from now on as well, thoughts lead to more thoughts.
Again, I sincerely apologize. I will become a musician who thinks and considers more.”
