The popular group SEVENTEEN has set a new record for pre-order sales of K-pop albums with their 10th mini-album “FML”.
According to their agency, Pledis Entertainment, the album, which will be released on the 24th at 6 pm, has already exceeded 4.64 million pre-orders worldwide.
This number not only surpasses the first-week sales of their 4th full-length album “Face the Sun” (2,067,769 copies), but it is also the highest pre-order record for any K-pop album to date.
The previous K-pop pre-order record was set by global super group BTS with their 4th full-length album “Map of the Soul: 7” (4.02 million copies) in 2020.
Given SEVENTEEN’s continued success, “FML” is expected to perform well on global charts such as the “Billboard 200”. In particular, expectations are high for a new record to be set on the Billboard 200 chart.
SEVENTEEN expressed their confidence in starting a new story with this album, which includes a total of six songs, including the double title, the first time that SEVENTEEN has released a double title track.
