Actress Seo Shin Ae has finally responded with her own statement regarding the whole situation with (G)I-DLE’s Soojin.

(G)I-DLE’s Soojin has been involved in bullying controversy and among the alleged victims was the child actress Seo Shin Ae who attended the same school as her. Fans came to this conclusion as Actress Seo Shin Ae had personally revealed she was bullied as a kid at school at a past interview.

While the actress has never directly [up until this point] responded to the rumors of Soojin being her bully, she did release vague posts hinting at discord between her and Soojin.

In a new statement released last week by Soojin, she again denied being a school bully and said ‘I have never spoken with actress Seo Shin Ae during my days in school,’ she also urged the actress to release a statement on the issue.

On March 26, Seo Shin Ae issued a personal statement telling her side of the story, she wrote,

“Hello, this is actress Seo Shin Ae. Ten years ago, I was young and had no courage. However, if I once again face this with fear and hesitation, I think I will feel very disappointed and regretful in the distant future, so I am going to take courage. I have been active in the entertainment industry since I was young, but I was an ordinary student like other children in school. I transferred to middle school in the first semester of the second grade and tried to get along well with my classmates.

For two years, the person who mentioned me constantly criticized and attacked me with groundless insults such as “How can he be a celebrity when she’s not very pretty,” “She’s outcast,” “I don’t know what teachers like about her that cause them to give her special treatment,” it happened on the way to school, in the hallways during breaks, the cafeteria, every day and anywhere with a group along with unpleasant cursing and snickering laughter. It could have been just the timing and jealousy of young students, or it could have been a passing remark, but it still remains the words that hurt me deeply. The wounds then gradually grew bigger and I started to develop feat of people. The fear also became trauma turning me into an introverted personality, and have become a major obstacle in my entrance to high school.

I realized that not only physical violence but mental violence can also leave a lifelong scar on one person’s life. She says she doesn’t remember and hasn’t talked to me, and that’s right. It was just one-sided insults. I feel its unfortunate that she is drawing the line saying that she definitely didn’t do the actions or say such hurtful words in her group behind my back. And I am not sure what kind of witnesses and evidence you have, but I want to ask if her selective memories are genuine enough to cover up everything I’m talking about.”

She ended her statement wishing that for students who are struggling with school violence right now would ask around for help.

Seo Shin Ae ended her statement stating she feels apologetic for causing worry for many due to this situation and will want to give back with her activities as an actress rather than her personal issues.
