RIIZE’s Seunghan indefinitely suspends activities following the various leaks about his private life!

On the 22nd of November, RIIZE’s Seunghan agency, SM Entertainment, stated in an official press release that Seunghan sincerely apologizes and reflects on the recent issues regarding the unauthorized leakage and dissemination of his personal life through SNS and online communities and he’s taking a hiatus to reflect.

Despite this statement, SM said the leaks intentionally paint the idol in a bad light and they will be taking legal action against the leakers.

Seunghan has been involved in various happenings regarding his personal life, this began with photos with his alleged past girlfriend being leaked online, he had issued an apology and carried out activities while SM promised strict legal action against the spreaders of the said photos.

However, recently, a netizen has began spreading private videos of Seunghan, this features him talking to his friends. The alleged videos are rumored to have been taken during his trainee period, but many fans noticed they’ve been maliciously edited and released now to cause the idol damage.

The following is a statement from SM Entertainment regarding member Seunghan of the group RIIZE:

We would like to address the recent issues regarding Seunghan’s personal life, which has been leaked and spread without permission through SNS and online communities. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and confusion caused to the team, the members, and our fans.
As a result, Seunghan has expressed his intention to temporarily suspend his activities for the sake of the team, feeling a psychological burden and responsibility.
Considering the circumstances, we have also determined that it would be difficult to continue activities in such a situation. We respect Seunghan’s opinion of not wanting to cause any further harm to the team and members, and have decided to indefinitely suspend activities.
Therefore, RIIZE will continue its activities with the remaining six members, starting from today (22nd).
Although this is a sudden situation, it was a decision made through careful discussions with the artist himself. We kindly ask for your understanding, and we deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused, even though it is before the debut.
However, the videos and photos that are currently being leaked and spread without permission were taken during Seunghan’s trainee days in private time. These have been repeatedly reproduced with intentional secondary editing using screen captures from videos with identifiable sources, causing misunderstandings.
Furthermore, the unauthorized leakers and spreaders of these videos and photos have employed malicious methods, creating non-existent messenger conversations and baseless false information, spreading fabricated and distorted information that seriously damages the artist’s reputation.
As soon as we became aware of these facts, we immediately conducted monitoring and collected substantial evidence to identify the unauthorized leakers and spreaders. Today, we plan to submit a formal complaint to the police station with jurisdiction.
In addition, we are considering additional legal actions not only for the serious defamation of the artist caused by unauthorized leaks and spreads but also for various illegal activities such as cybercrimes and threats.
For the sake of the artist, the team, and the fans who love the team, we will respond firmly and without compromise to any secondary acts of harm, including the creation and spread of indiscriminate rumors related to the artist, through legal measures.
We will continue to do our best to protect our artists and the team.
Thank you.
