Red Velvet achieved their career high with their new mini album, surpassing 490,000 copies in its first week.
Hanteo Charts announced on December 5th that Red Velvet’s “The ReVe Festival 2022- Birthday” sold more than 490,000 copies. The initial sales period for “The ReVe Festival 2022- Birthday” was from November 28 to December 4.
According to the initial data provided by Hanteo Charts, 392,000 copies were sold on the 28th, the first day. Then, it sold 18,680 copies on the 29th, 10,821 copies on the 30th, 30,293 copies on the 1st, 10,169 copies on the 2nd, 1,007 copies on the 3rd and 33,274 copies on the 4th; ending with a total of 496,874 copies.
With this Red Velvet achieves a new milestone in their career by surpassing the initial sales of their previous album, “The ReVe Festival 2022- Feel My Rhythm” (443,922).
The mini album, “The ReVe Festival 2022- Birthday” is the second album of the “The ReVe Festival 2022” series.
The title track, “Birthday” is a trap rhythmic pop song that samples George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody In Blue” and features drums and synths. The lyrics contain a confession that every day will be as fun as a birthday with me.
Red Velvet has proved their music versatility with group, unit and solo activities. They have proved their power by achieving high sales with this mini album.
