Rapper Ravi (Kim Wonsik, 30) and Nafla (choi seokbae, 31), who were sent to trial on charges of military service corruption today have admitted to the charges against them!

At the first trial held on the 11th in front of Judge Kim Jung-gi of Criminal Division 7 of the Seoul Southern District Court, the prosecution requested that Ravi be sentenced to 2 years in prison and Nafla be sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison.

The prosecution also asked for Kim Mo (38), the co-CEO of their agency, Groovl1n, who tried to help them avoid military service, to 2 years in prison sentence.

Ravi was indicted last month on charges of attempting to evade military service (violation of the Military Service Act, obstruction of official duties by hierarchy) by colluding with Kim, the CEO of his agency, and broker Gu Mo (47), pretending to be a patient with epilepsy and receiving a false diagnosis certificate, which he submitted to the Military Manpower Administration.

Ravi and others are also charged with trying to evade military service by submitting a false diagnosis of epilepsy through collusion with Gu, a military service broker who is currently under arrest and on trial.

Ravi received a scenario of a false epilepsy diagnosis from Gu, pretended to faint, and underwent a hospital examination, and when he submitted a medical examination report to the Military Manpower Administration in June 2021 suspecting epilepsy, Gu sent a message saying “Good, you are exempted from military service.”

Nafla was arrested last month on charges of attempting to receive an unsuitability verdict for military service by pretending to worsen his depression symptoms through collusion with Kim, the co-CEO of Groovl1n, and Gu, and also charged with writing and using a false official document (violation of the Military Service Act, obstruction of official duties by hierarchy, and use of a false official document). Nafla was assigned to the Seoul Seocho-gu Office as a social service worker but was found not to have shown up for 141 days.

They admitted all charges and sought leniency, with Ravi saying in his final statement, “I made a foolish choice that should not have been made. I will live the rest of my life with a repentant heart and not forget this moment.” Nafla said, “I was too afraid that all the popularity I had built up would disappear if my activities were interrupted by enlistment. I admit my mistake. If I am given another chance, I will fulfill my military duty sincerely.”

Officials from the Seocho-gu Office and the Military Manpower Administration, who were also sent to trial with them, admitted to charges of writing false official documents, etc.
