Former JYJ member Park Yoochun has finally been sentenced for his violation of illegal drug use.
On July 2, the court revealed Park Yoochun will be fined approx. $1200 as well as 10 months in prison if he violates any additional laws within his two year probation period. The judge took into consideration the fact that his record was clean before this incident and that he admitted to the charges and is remorseful.
He was previously accused of purchasing 1.5g of methamphetamine with his ex-fiance and then using the drug on 7 different times. Many news outlets report that it is unlikely that he’ll appeal the court’s decision.
After he was handed his sentence, he appeared in front of the press outside Gyeonggi District Court Office where he was detained for 68 days. Once again, he delivered a tearful apology.
He apologized and promised to live sincerely and when asked to say a word to his fans, he chocked and added, ‘I will live an honest life.’ He didn’t answer the question of whether he’ll appeal his sentencing or not.
