Park Jimin Criticized For Being Inconsiderate After Another Singer Named Jamie Raises Concern Over Her New Stage Name

Park Jimin (now known as Jamie) is getting heat for changing her stage name!

On April 21, fans learned that Park Jimin has signed an exclusive contract with Warner Music Korea to resume her activities overseas and in Korea after leaving JYP.

The label excitingly announced the news through an official statement also revealing that she will now go by the stage name Jamie, her English name. She originally debuted with the name Park Jimin in 15& back in 2012; fans loved the new stage name because she’s long since been confused with BTS Park Jimin and it created a lot of awkward situations, she’s still getting mistaken for BTS’s Jimin.

However, it turns out that there is another artist who goes by the name Jamie currently promoting in South Korea. She a former The Lush member and after learning of the news, she posted to her Instagram,

“What should I do?” Referring to the recent articles about Jamies’ name change. Netizens began criticizing Park Jimin for not doing thorough research before changing her name.

The other artist, Jamie has been promoting under that stage name since she debuted as a soloist in 2016. Fans are currently debating the issue since Park Jimin had previously revealed her English name to be Jamie Park.

  1. Dude, idols have had the same names before. I don’t even know who either of these people are, but I know that this Park Jimin has the same name as BTS Park Jimin. There’s like 20 Chaeyoungs, no one complains about that. I think that’s a dumb reason to hate on an idol.
