Infamous Rapper NO:EL Sentenced To Three Years In Prison For DUI And Assaulting A Police Officer
Infamous Rapper NO:EL will serve in jail for his crimes.
Infamous Rapper NO:EL (aka Jang Yong Joon) was sentenced to three years in prison for refusing to take a breathalyzer, DUI while driving without a license, and assaulting a police officer.
His trial was held on February 25 at the Seoul Central District Court hearing, the prosecution requested a 3-year sentence in prison since this isn’t the rapper’s first offense.
The incident happened on September 18 of 2021, NO:EL was driving his Mercedes-Benz car at the intersection of St. Mary’s hospital in Banpo-dong, Seoul, where he collided with another vehicle. At the time, he was driving without a license, he refused to take breathalyzer tests, and obstructed the execution of official duties. He was booked on those charges. After that, he posted an apology.
This isn’t the first time the rapper has found himself in trouble. He was previously indicted on charges of drunk driving and changing drivers after a car accident. He was sentenced to one year and six months in prison suspended to two years of probation. He had also been sent to prosecution for swearing and assaulting passer-bys in February of 2021.
Rapper NO:EL gained fame after participating in “High School Rapper,” he’s the son of a known politician named Chang Je-won, an incumbent Member of the National Assembly from the United Future Party.
