NewJeans’ Debut Song “Hype Boy” Exceeds 200 Million Streams+ “Ditto” Records 100 Million Streams In Just A Month

NewJeans rules over Spotify as their song “Hype Boy” hit 200 million streams and “Ditto” achieved 100 million streams in just a month.

On February 5, the global music platform Spotify announced that the debut song of NewJeans “Hype Boy” has surpassed 200 million streams.

The song was played 2101,566 times cumulatively until February 3. It has been 186 days since the song was released. “Hype Boy” also remained at 89th place on the Spotify Global “Weekly Top Song” chart released the previous day, showing its unbeatable popularity. The songs “Ditto” and the title song “OMG” from the single album “OMG” released last month ranked 19th and 21st on the same chart, respectively.

“Ditto” has recorded more than 100 million streams in 30 days since the release of the song, becoming the third song of NewJeans’ career on Spotify to record 100 million streams after “Hype Boy” and “Attention.” It also ranked on the “Weekly Top Song” chart in 22 countries and regions, including Taiwan’s No. 1 “Weekly Top Song” and No. 36 “Weekly Top Song” in the U.S.

“OMG” topped the ‘Weekly Top Song’ in Korea and Singapore. The cumulative number of Spotify plays of this song reached 89,515,074 as of February 3, and is close to achieving 100 million streams.

NewJeans, who debuted last year, is receiving positive responses worldwide by being listed on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the U.K. official chart Single Top 100 six months after their debut. In Korea, “Ditto,” “OMG,” and “Hype Boy” ranked first to third side by side on the Melon monthly chart last month.
