Min Hee Jin Rejects ADOR’s Offer, Says They’re Doing ‘Wordplay’ And Demands To Be Reinstated As CEO
After ADOR proposed an extension of Min Hee Jin‘s term as an internal director and guaranteed her 5 years of producing work for NewJeans as a compromise, Min Hee Jin strongly rejected the offer, dismissing it as “wordplay” and demanded her reinstatement as CEO.
On the 25th of September, ADOR announced that it would hold an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on October 17 to reappoint Min Hee Jin as an internal director. They also stated that on the 11th, they had asked her to continue producing NewJeans for the remaining 5 years of their contract. However, they made it clear that her return to the CEO position, as demanded by NewJeans during a live broadcast, was not an option.
Despite ADOR’s offer, Min Hee Jin rejected the compromise. Her team issued a statement, highlighting that while ADOR proposed the extension of her contract to produce NewJeans, there was no mention of removing problematic clauses like the unilateral termination rights. They emphasized concerns that simply extending her term under an unfair contract would not guarantee normal activities for NewJeans.
Min Hee Jin’s team criticized ADOR for potentially using media tactics and called for sincere negotiations. They demanded that Min Hee Jin be reinstated as CEO to ensure the continued success of NewJeans.
The conflict between Min Hee Jin and HYBE started in April over allegations of a “management takeover” and escalated when she was removed from the CEO position in August. Since then, NewJeans has stood by Min Hee Jin, urging for her return as CEO, opposing the direction set by HYBE and ADOR’s leadership.
What do you think of Min Hee Jin’s response?
