MBC officially apologized for making singer horan appear on “king of mask singer”.
on april 10th, the “king of mask singer” side posted a notice titled ‘this is the production team of the king of mask singer’ on the viewer opinion bulletin board of the homepage. they expressed their position on the controversy over horan’s appearance.
the production team bowed their heads, saying, “we deeply apologize for causing inconvenience to the viewers,” and “we did not meet the strict and natural level of the viewers.”
they added, “there is no room for excuses. it happened because of the wrong judgment of the production team.”
they promised to prevent a recurrence, “we will introduce stricter standards for recruiting performers in the future.”
previously, horan appeared on episode 399 of “king of mask singer”, which aired on the 9th. she advanced to the third round as ‘funky fox’, but she was eliminated in the final singer showdown.

horan has a history of drunk driving three times. she was also fined in 2004 and 2007 for driving while intoxicated. in her last drunk driving accident, even human injuries occurred.
as the criticism continued, mbc deleted horan’s appearance uploaded on youtube and naver tv. in addition, they are trying to appease viewers with an official apology.
meanwhile, horan released a single album in october 2018 and resumed her activities. last year, she also appeared in tvn’s “free han doctor m”.
