Former member of the group Akdong Club, Lee Tae Geun, has passed away at the age of 41.

Lee Tae Geun died on the 3rd of September at a hospital in his hometown, Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, and his funeral was held on the morning of the 5th.

In 2021, after receiving his third COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, Lee Tae Geun experienced symptoms of headaches and vomiting, which led him to visit a hospital. There, he was diagnosed with subarachnoid hemorrhage and was admitted to the intensive care unit.

He battled his condition for a long time but eventually passed away.

His wife, A, posted on social media in February 2022, sharing her plea for help through a petition to the Blue House, stating, “My husband is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.”

She further explained, “He has lost more than 20 kg [around 40lb] in weight. He is unable to eat or even receive nutrients, leaving him in a skeletal state.”

She added, “He is barely able to breathe. I desperately appeal for help to save my husband.”

Lee Tae Geun first appeared in 2001 on the MBC TV show Goal Achieving Saturday – Akdong Club and made his debut in the music industry the following year with the group Akdong Club. In 2006, they rebranded as D.A.D but did not achieve much success.

May his soul rest in peace.
