Fans feel extremely sorry for Lee Hongki regarding the recent scandal surrounding the former band leader Choi Jong Hoon.

As of this writing, it has been roughly 10 hours since FNC Entertainment announced in a press release that Choi Jong Hoon is leaving his band and the entire entertainment industry.

When the reports first came out, Lee Hongki was wrongly labeled as a possible person of interest, he since then shut down the rumors completely. He is known for being an upfront idol who isn’t afraid of telling it like it is.

He posted a photo of his puppy that was sitting on the ground, he added the hashtag,

“#given up”

Fans suspected he was referring to his former band leader Choi Jong Hoon whom he has known for more than 10 years.

A fan then left a comment in Japanese asking Lee Hongki not to give up on Choi Jong Hoon, to that Lee Hongki responded with,

“I’ve given up.”

My Personal Thoughts

I am a Primadonna, I love FTISLAND music. I memorized every song of every album; they keep putting out amazing content and made me feel so happy on many occasions.

Finding out that my personal bias of the group is actually involved in this shithole… I feel disgusted.

I stan second generation Kpop groups and bands so the news for the past couple of days have been giving me a headache and serious shock, I am sick to my stomach reading chat logs conversations between my fav idols….

It might be a difficult pill to swallow but it is what it is, we don’t know the full extent of Choi Jong Hoon involvement. The police haven’t released a statement yet and I’d like to refrain from making assumptions about that or talking about Jong Hoon specifically right now.

What I want to talk about are the victims and the four remaining members of FTISLAND.

People don’t know how much FTISLAND struggled and how they rose to fame and then changed their musical direction and lost lots of fans. I respected them because I loved how they chose to stay true to themselves and make music they’re proud of.

I understand how Hongki must be feeling right now, and I am a mere fan. Hongki spent more than 10 years with this man and he seems to be surprised like the rest of us, I can’t begin to imagine how difficult it must be for him right now.

There is a difference between causing yourself trouble and causing others trouble. If you have people who depend on you, have the decency to think about how your actions will affect them.

This will leave a stain on FTISLAND and that hurts me, 4 members are hurt but his actions simply because they’re in the same band, they did nothing wrong but have to suffer because of all of this..

I am a woman and a human being before a Kpop fan and it hurts me that many international Kpop fans seem to forget this and blindly defend the people involved calling what they did ‘mistakes.’

I also feel for the victims who must be struggling reading chat logs about them and finding out all these information as the news report them…. I mean imagine being one of those victims and finding out about all of this through the press, just imagine!!!

I wish for everyone who hurt these women to be punished to the full extent of the law. My feelings about the idols don’t matter, what matter are facts. I trust the police and I know the best of the best are involved in investigating this entire ordeal because of its scale, that assures me the police won’t take this lightly.

  1. I am totally agree with your statements. I’m shocked when I learn what happened with Seungri, then I realize that I can no longer defend him.

I told so many people that we’re human first and fans second. We have to see them the same way too. They’re human first and idol second. We can’t babied them just because they made us happy for the past 10 years or so. Some of them probably think that that kind of perspective is one of the thing that make them feel more superior than others.

My heart goes to all the victims. They deserve justice.

  2. If you’re a Primadonna, I’m a VIP so I can emphatize with you. Sharing the same sentiments… I can’t decide on how to take all these messy, dirty, scandals about Seungri. I can’t even find a heart to support and believe on him. Right now, I’m so disappointed that he let this happen on himself and then brought shame qnd troubles to everyone. I’m so heartbroken on the fact that Bigbang can never be the same anymore. I began to remember how many times the members have been vocally warned him about his businesses and people he dealed with but… this s**t still happened.

I really feel sorry for the victims. And I symphatize with the members and their fans.
