The Kpop Girl Group Members Who Boldly Admitted To In-Group Fighting And Past Discord
Lee Ji Hye and Seo Ji Young, former members of the co-ed group Shop, candidly acknowledged past rumors of discord.
Recently, the YouTube channel “Unhateable Attention-Seeker Sister” uploaded a video titled “Lee Ji Hye and Seo Ji Young together on camera after 15 years (Not a Composite).”
In the video, Lee Ji Hye reunited with Seo Ji Young and introduced her as “someone who played a significant role in my life, we were really close, became close again, and although there was a brief pause in between, she’s a dear friend.”
Seo Ji Young, who appeared on camera for the first time in years, seemed nervous. Lee Ji Hye explained, “Seo Ji Young hasn’t been in front of a camera for over 10 years. She’s living a normal life as a mother, so she feels awkward and tense around cameras.”
Seo Ji Young also shared an update on her life, revealing that she’s raising two children, a 11-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son. When asked about the possibility of a third child, she responded, “I don’t have any energy left, so I’m not sure how I could manage a third.”
The two also reflected on their time in Shop. Lee Ji Hye mentioned, “We went through a tough period during our time in Shop, so there are parts I don’t remember well.”
Lee Ji Hye expressed her desire to hold a reunion concert with the other Shop members, asking Seo Ji Young, “If you ever have time and feel up to it, let’s have a Shop concert. Please open your heart to it.” However, Seo Ji Young hesitated, saying, “I’m too nervous, and now even if I raise my voice a little, I start coughing.”
Seo Ji Young then apologized to Lee Ji Hye for her singing skills during their time in Shop, saying, “We were a lip-sync group, but you were great at live performances. I always felt bad because you should’ve been with someone on your level. My skills were lacking.”

In response, Lee Ji Hye reassured her, saying, “You have your own charm, and people loved the harmony between our voices. Sure, being able to sing live well is ideal, but that’s what groups are for—to complement each other.”
Seo Ji Young admitted, “I feel like we were lucky with the group’s success.”
The two also opened up about the long-standing rumors of discord within the group. Lee Ji Hye said, “Now that we’re greeting everyone together like this, I hope we can stop talking about the discord between the members.” Seo Ji Young coolly admitted, “Well, it was true,” but added, “It’s been too long for it to matter anymore.”
Lee Ji Hye agreed, saying, “It’s been so long. It’s old news now,” and Seo Ji Young chimed in, “No one’s really interested in it anymore anyway.”
Lee Ji Hye and Seo Ji Young debuted in 1998 as members of the co-ed group Shop. The group gained immense popularity with hit songs like “Sweetie” and “My Lips… Like Warm Coffee” but disbanded in 2002 amid rumors of internal discord. It was later revealed that the two reconciled after the group’s breakup.
