Korean Model Lee Pyung Passes Away At 43

Model Lee Pyung (real name Lee Kyung-mi) passed away on the 31st of last month after battling cancer. She was 43 years old.

Lee Pyung passed away after her battle with cancer on the 31st of last month. The funeral hall was set up at Room 23 of Seoul Gangnam Seongmo Hospital. The departure ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on the 2nd. She will be laid to rest at Uljin Memorial Park, passing through Seoul Memorial Park.

Model Lee Sun Jin shared the sad news on her Instagram, saying, “We didn’t keep in touch often, and time just passed by. I was actually scared that you might have been in a lot of pain, so there were times when I avoided contacting you out of cowardice. I’m sorry. Please forgive foolish me.”

Lee Sun Jin expressed her heartfelt emotions, saying, “Pyung-ah, please don’t suffer there and be happier. Let’s meet again later. I’m sorry, Pyung-ah. I love you, Pyung-ah.”

She also spoke about Lee Pyung, saying, “She suffered from cancer for a long time. Even though she was in pain, she continued to walk the runway and work as a model, finding happiness in it. She wanted to be remembered for her beautiful moments as a model and didn’t want people to know about her pain, so she couldn’t let those around her know about her suffering. I’m sorry. For the best model, for the amazing junior colleagues, please join us on the final journey of the deceased.”

On another note, Lee Pyung made her debut as a model at the age of 18. She actively participated in fashion shows. In 2010 and 2016, she received awards such as the 31st Korea Best Dresser Swan Award for the Women’s Model Division and the Asia Beauty Awards Model Award.
