KBS has decided to ban both Kim Sae Ron and Shinhwa’s Shin Hye Sung from appearing on their channel!
According to recent reports recently shared by media outlets, actors Kim Sae Ron and singer Shin Hye Sung will no longer be able to appear on KBS. A KBS official stated that “the temporary appearance restrictions for Kim Sae Ron and Shin Hye Sung were changed to a suspension of broadcasting appearances” at the Broadcast Appearance Restriction Review Committee meeting held on the same day.
Kim Sae Ron caused a drunk driving accident in May of last year and was fined 20 million won. Shin Hye Sung was caught driving under the influence after stealing another person’s car in October of last year. He was sentenced to six months in prison and one year of probation on the 20th of April.
KBS has designated “acts that cause social controversy through illegal or unethical behavior” as subject to broadcasting appearance restrictions. KBS has imposed a suspension on the broadcasting appearances of entertainers who have caused social controversy, including Yoo Ah In, Kwak Do Won, and Don Spike, in addition to Kim Sae Ron and Shin Hye Sung.
