JYP Issues Stern Response To Deepfakes Spreading About TWICE, To Take Strict Legal Action

TWICE members have been victims of the recent horrifying spread of deepfakes and JYP has issued a statement addressing the issue!

On the 30th of August, TWICE’s agency, JYP Entertainment, released an official statement addressing the recent spread of deepfake (AI-generated) videos involving their artists, stating that they are taking the situation very seriously.

JYP Entertainment warned those who done it and said they will take very strict legal action and will not offer leniency at all during their pursuit.

Recently, crimes involving the creation and distribution of deepfake explicit content, particularly through Telegram chat rooms, have become rampant, heightening awareness of such crimes in the entertainment industry.


Below is the official statement by JYP Entertainment regarding TWICE’s deepfakes:

“Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.
We are taking the recent spread of deepfake (AI-generated) videos involving our artists very seriously.
This is a clear illegal act, and we are currently collecting all related materials. We are proceeding with strong legal action without leniency in collaboration with a professional law firm.
We will not tolerate any acts that infringe on the rights of our artists and will respond firmly until the end. Thank you.”
