Singer Jung Joon Young could be facing up to 7 years in prison according to a Korean lawyer.

The singer is currently facing charges for filming and sharing illegal spycam of women sexual acts in chatrooms. The chatrooms included celebrities, CEOs and many non-celebrity friends as well.

On March 18 episode of “Section TV,” lawyer Oh Soo Jin touched on the investigation regarding the singer and discussed a possible prison sentence period.

The lawyer explains that he could be facing additional charges of solicitation of prostitution (as some Korean news outlets raised suspicion about that). According to lawyer Oh Soo Jin, if he commits several crimes, the punishment will be up to 1.5 times the crime with the longer sentence.

The law of 2015 and 2016 (in which the illegally taken footage was shot and shared) can sentence him to a maximum of five years in prison. If he’s found guilty of solicitation of prostitution, this can lead up to the maximum sentence of seven years and six months.

An arrest warrant for Jung Joon Young was requested on March 18 on the charges of filming and sharing spycam videos to various chatrooms. On March 20,  it was revealed that he will be questioned by chief prosecuting attorney Lim Min Sung at the Seoul Central District Court on March 21 at 10:30 a.m. KST.

The chief prosecuting attorney will decide if the arrest warrant will be approved or rejected after that.
