Jung Ilhoon has been handed his final sentence.

On December 16, Jung Ilhoon headed to Seoul High Court for his marijuana case and received his finalized sentence.

Jung IlHoon was previously charged on the suspicion of purchasing and smoking 826 grams (approximately 1.8 pounds) of marijuana using approximately 130 million won (approximately $116,500) across 161 instances between July 5, 2016, and January 9, 2019, together with seven other people.

He was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 133 million won (approximately $119,200) for violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. He was also immediately taken under custody as the court believed there was a possibility he might flee. The prosecution previously demanded four years in prison for his crimes along with a fine. He appealed the decision and so did the prosecution.

During the hearing on November 18, prosecutors requested a two-year prison sentence and a fine of 126.6 million won (approximately $107,250) for Jung Ilhoon’s marijuana charges.

Ultimately, the court sentenced Jung Ilhoon to two years in prison suspended for three years of probation, 40 hours of a drug treatment course, and an additional fine of 120 million won (approximately $101,371).

The court stated that they took into consideration that he voluntarily stopped buying and smoking marijuana and that he had no prior criminal record.
