Jun Ji Hyun Finally Returning To Drama Land 4 Years Later With Her First Historical Drama Project

Jun Ji Hyun is finally coming back!

On November 28, A Korean news outlet reported that Jun Ji Hyun will be appearing in the finale of Netflix’s “Kingdom.”

Jun Ji Hyun last drama was four years ago, it also marks her first attempt at a sageuk drama. The first season of “Kingdom” premiered in late January of 2019, it was led by Joo Ji Hoon, Bae Doona, and Ryu Seung Ryong. Due to its immense popularity, the drama confirmed a second season.

Jun Ji Hyun appearance in the series was kept a secret even within the production team of the drama. She had reportedly filmed separately after all the other actors were done with their scenes. She is reportedly playing a key character in season 2 and 3.

In response to those reports, Jun Ji Hyun’s agency confirmed that the actress indeed took part in the filming of “Kingdom 2” but declined to comment on any specific details about the drama. The possibility of season 3 is still being considered and is unconfirmed according to her agency, however, they did state that she would positively review the offer for her appearance in a third season if it happens.

“Kingdom 2” will air in March 2020.
