The Unexpected Comeback Rumors Of Jisoo Shocks BLACKPINK’s Fans, Here Is Her Response
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is attracting attention after one report alleged she’s making a comeback before the end of this year!
On the 8th of November, Jisoo’s agency addressed solo comeback rumors, denying them and announcing her focus on acting.
Previously, one media outlet alleged that Jisoo was preparing for a solo comeback before 2024 ends and that she was filming for her comeback music video to the delight of fans. However, as fans looked closer, the rumors didn’t make sense since Jisoo is preparing for the release of the film Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint and the Coupang Play series Newtopia. She is also considering joining the new drama Monthly Boyfriend.
Following the other BLACKPINK members’ departures from YG Entertainment last year to establish independent labels, Jisoo remains without a major singing project. Lisa launched her label in February, releasing singles Rockstar and New Woman, while Jennie founded her own label too and returned with the single Mantra after appearing in several variety shows. Both artists reached significant milestones, making their mark on the Billboard charts, iTunes, and more.
Rosé’s popularity has skyrocketed, particularly with her pre-release track Apt, which topped major music charts in South Korea on its release day. It became the first song by a Korean female solo artist to hit #1 on Spotify’s U.S. chart, #2 on the UK Official Singles Chart, and #8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rosé continued to make history, maintaining a Top 3 position on the UK charts for three consecutive weeks.
With each member showcasing their influence as solo artists, anticipation is mounting for Jisoo’s next steps as the last member to make her independent comeback.
In March of last year, Jisoo’s first solo single ME sold over 1.17 million copies, making her the first Korean female solo artist to achieve this. Her title track Flower saw viral popularity with a dance challenge and surpassed 400 million streams on Spotify in April, later reaching 1 billion on YouTube Music, a first for a Korean solo artist. With a BLACKPINK group comeback scheduled for next year, expectations are high for Jisoo’s solo comeback momentum.
