ITZY has joined the very exclusive club of the few girl groups to have sold a million copies from an album.
On September 8, the Korea Music Copyright Association (KMCA) reported that ITZY’s most recent album “Checkmate” reached 1 million copies sold.
This makes it their first ever album to reach this milestone and their 4th album to be certified by the KMCA.
ITZY has now become the first ever girl group from JPY to sell 1 million copies from a single album and the fourth ever girl group to have one album reach one million sales. They join aespa, IVE and BLACKPINK.
