Girl group ITZY proved their popularity once again by becoming a million-selling artist for the second consecutive time with the mini album ‘CHESHIRE’.
The album ‘CHESHIRE’ released by ITZY on November 30, 2022, exceeded 1 million copies in cumulative shipments on the Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Chart) as of January 12.
The 5th mini album ‘CHECKMATE’ was released in July of last year and this album successively achieved a million sellers, making it a clear ‘global trending girl group’. ‘CHESHIRE’ previously recorded a half-million seller in the first week of sales by surpassing 633,248 copies in the first week based on the Hanteo Chart and wrote its own best record. On the Circle Chart’s monthly album chart for November 2022, it ranked first with a cumulative shipment of 779,455 copies.
ITZY will hold their second official fan meeting at KBS Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul on February 12 to repay the fans’ great love, ‘ITZY The 2nd Fan Meeting Itzy, let’s fly! “To Wonder World”‘ will be held. At the same time as offline performances, paid live broadcasts will be conducted online through the Beyond LIVE platform, and memories will be made with more global MIDZYs that transcend time and space.
Meanwhile, ITZY will hold a concert in Manila, Philippines, on January 14th and 15th as part of their first world tour since their debut, ‘ITZY THE 1ST WORLD TOUR <CHECKMATE>’. This performance is ITZY’s first solo overseas performance in 2023, and it is expected to capture the global fan spirit that heated up Seoul in August last year and eight U.S. cities in October and November of last year.
Afterwards, they will perform in Singapore on January 28, Jakarta, Indonesia on February 4, Chiba, Japan on February 22-23, Taiwan on February 26, and Bangkok, Thailand on April 8, with a total of 8 Asian performances in 6 cities.
